Michael Travers

My story

From a family of riders, to a few bike shops, to titanium frames and the long way round.

Where it started

A family that rode

My dad introduced me to cycling. His family had always ridden, and my uncle and cousin rode too. We took our bikes away with us on holiday, a couple of times, and that was it for me.

The shops

Then the bike shops

I managed a few bike shops before I set up on my own in 2012. I started Travers Bikes designing titanium frames, and it grew into the workshop it is now: servicing, wheels, my own frames and the EVO Prong fork, and the brands I distribute.

The frames

Why I started making them

I couldn't find a bike that did what I wanted. Lightweight, stable, and happy to do long days in the saddle. So I started designing my own, in titanium.

The Great British Divide

Crazily, it was my first multi-day bikepacking trip. The freedom to ride all day without worrying about being anywhere. Just ride, enjoy the trails, and not know what ditch you'll be sleeping in that night. Amazing!

How I work

Attention to detail

I would never let a bike leave the workshop that I wouldn't be happy to ride.
