Fat bikes are about floating over sand, snow and mud, and about big, comfortable tyres. A fat bike frame has to make room for them: wide stays, a wide bottom bracket and a long enough chainstay to keep the tyre clear of everything. A titanium frame suits the job well, and it keeps its looks through winter.
Start from our standard fat bike frame and change what you like. The designer checks the tyre, chainring and heel clearance against the wide stays, and shows the wheelbase and bottom bracket height.

From 3.8 to 5.0 inch tyres on 26-inch wheels.
Spacing and bottom bracket
12 x 197 mm rear spacing and a 120 mm English-threaded bottom bracket.
Belt drive and gearboxes
Add a Pinion gearbox frame (+£350), a belt-drive splitter (£10) or sliding dropouts (£20).
Mounts and details
Bottle bosses, rack and mudguard mounts and internal routing are free, and the Travers logo is engraved on the head tube.

Questions
What is the biggest tyre it takes?
The frame is drawn for tyres up to 5.0 inches. The designer shows the gaps for the tyre you choose and warns you if a chainring would not clear.
Can I run a belt drive or a Pinion gearbox?
Yes. A Pinion frame is +£350 and a belt-drive splitter is £10. Sliding dropouts, for single speed or hub gears, are £20.
What rear hub spacing does it use?
12 x 197 mm, the usual fat bike spacing.
