Electric bikes are heavier and work their chains, brakes and bearings harder, so they need looking after more often, not less. Book any of our services and add the e-bike check for £20. Drop off in Canewdon, or we collect and return across Rochford District for £30.

What the add-on covers

E-bike add-on, £20

  • Extra chain, cassette and brake wear check (e-bikes are heavier)
  • Torque check including motor and battery mounts
  • Visual check of cables, connectors and speed-sensor magnet gap
  • Battery seating and contacts checked
  • Advice on anything that needs the dealer's diagnostics

Add to any service for an electric bike. We service the bike itself: we do not work on motors, batteries or software, so for those please see your e-bike dealer.

All workshop labour is guaranteed for 30 days.

Do you service e-bikes?

Yes. Book any service and tell us it's an e-bike: the £20 add-on covers the extra wear checks and torque checks a heavier bike needs.

Which e-bike systems do you work on?

The bike itself on any system: Bosch, Shimano STEPS, Bafang, Mahle, Fazua, Yamaha and the rest. Brakes, drivetrain, wheels, bearings, tyres, cables and set-up are all the same job as on a normal bike, just heavier.

What don't you do?

Motor internals, battery repairs and software or firmware updates. Those need the maker's diagnostic tools, so for those we'll point you to the right dealer rather than guess.

Should I bring the battery?

Yes, and the key if it has one. We check the battery seats and its contacts are clean, and we need to power the bike up to check the display, lights and sensors.
