Handy for commuters on the Rayleigh to Southend run, weekends in Hockley Woods, and anyone having a go at the Hadleigh Park climbs.

Hockley
Hockley Woods chews through brake pads and bottom brackets in winter. Worth a Silver service before the mud sets in.

Ashingdon
Ashingdon is a good starting point for Hockley Woods. I can get your bike ready for the daily commute or the ride out to the woods. The quiet lanes towards Canewdon are good winter road riding, which is hard on drivetrains.

Canewdon
Sea wall rides and the gravel tracks out to Wallasea pick up salt and grit, so a wash and re-wax afterwards is worth it.

Hawkwell
Every service is available for mountain, road and gravel bikes, and fat bikes too. Close to Hockley Woods and the Hawkwell to Rochford cycle routes.

Hullbridge
Hullbridge is a good place to start a ride out to the hills over Danbury. The river path along the Crouch is flat and fast, and filthy in winter.
SS4 · about 5 min
Stambridge
Stambridge is a good place to start a ride along the sea wall, not far from Rochford beach. Salt and grit off the marshes are hard on chains, so a wash and re-wax afterwards helps a lot.
SS3 and SS4 · about 20 min
Barling, Paglesham and Wallasea
Sea wall tracks along the Roach and out towards Wallasea Island and the RSPB reserve. It's flat and exposed, and the salt and grit are hard on a drivetrain.
Outside these areas? You can still drop your bike in, and I'll look at collection if you ask when you book.

Great Wakering
Flat roads and sea wall rides with plenty of wind. Salt and grit are hard on chains and cables, so a wash and re-wax now and then saves money.
SS7 · about 30 min
Hadleigh
Hadleigh Park's climbs and descents wear out brake pads and chains fast. Have them checked after a wet few weeks, or book a Silver service before the winter.
SS0 to SS2 · about 25 min
Southend-on-Sea
Salt air from the seafront gets into chains, cables and bolts. Commuters wear through brake pads and tyres quickly in winter. A wash and re-wax keeps a drivetrain going.
SS9 · about 30 min
Leigh-on-Sea
Seafront salt and the climbs up from Old Leigh are hard on chains and brakes. A wash and a re-wax after a coastal ride makes a real difference.
SS11 · about 30 min
Rawreth and Battlesbridge
Lanes down to the river Crouch are great riding and filthy in winter. Mud and water wear out chains and bearings, so a clean and re-wax pays off.

A quick once-over and a few tweaks. Fine for commuters and occasional riders, or to get ready for a new season.
Silver service

A deeper service for bikes that get ridden regularly. Once or twice a year is about right.
Gold service

A full reset. Good before a big season, or after one.
Platinum service

Partly stripped down, deep cleaned and rebuilt. As close to new as you'll get without replacing parts.
Kids' bikes from £15: see kids' bike repair. Parts are extra and always quoted first.

Drop it at the workshop in Rochford, or I collect and return across Rochford District for £30.
