Stage 2 of the new bridge done, the ramps are up either side and partly decked. Just need to finish decking, hand rails and ground works. Its hard to tell but the less steep side drops into a mini bomb hole.
New for the 2020 series. The Under 9 and 12 riders will all get a finishing medal.
The idea is: people were asking to have something to show when they go into school (what they have been doing at the weekend). Each rider will be presented with the medal at the first round they finish, then each round after that simply clips on. You do not need to ride all 6 as the they will all interlock. Its not the finished design. It will change. Also you will be able to download a certificate from the timing system of that race result. (at home) this applies to all classes. I have setup a new facebook group specifically for the Travers MTB Race Series
https://www.facebook.com/TraversMTBSeries Provisional dates have been posted there including the "Club Championship" This will be independent of the series. If you would like to hold your MTB club championship at Potash, please email info@traversbikes.com Once the dates have been confirmed I will update the website, until then for race info use the facebook group. The series will have a complete over-hall in 2020 with new categories, race timing system and points structure. Work has started on course prep for the 2020 MTB Series, the new bridge will allow for more varied course options with riders passing over and under. Your head will be about 3.5m off the ground giving a real sense of riding through the trees!
Round 6 - Race Information: Just 1 week to go until the final round. Entries close midnight Wednesday. On the Day entries will be available.
The category trophies are all finished, 3D printed from 90% recycled plastic with a log base made from fallen branches at Potash. There will be 2 raffle draws made. One at the Under 9/12 prize presentation and the other after the Main race prize presentation. Please take a raffle ticket when you sign-on, its free and open to anyone that raced, Marshaled and or helped out. Prize draws over £4000 Preparation for the 2020 series is already underway. I have developed a RFID chip timing system used in conjunction with your number boards. There will also be a app for both iphone and Android with living timing, results will be ready 10 seconds after you cross the line (subject to final confirmation). I will be testing it at the final round to collect live data for testing ready for next year (but not using it for results). There is also a new video capture for back-up purposes, this will be in use for all the categories. New course features are also planned hopefully featuring a new bridge you will be able to go over and under. Dual Slalom - This year will be based in the woods, if you can ride the pallet jump you will have no issues. Its turned into more of a short track, XC, Dual Slalom thingy. i.e. 2 rider will go on either track, then swap tracks and the fastest combined time will go through to the next round. Its free to enter with limited spaces, https://www.traversbikes.com/store.html#!/Travers-MTB-Series-2019/c/15746940/offset=0&sort=addedTimeDesc There will be an Under 9 and 12 version, this will just be a bit of fun and we will run after the prize presentation, also free, no need to enter this. Some frustrating news: I have had my van broken into and all of the course equipment used to prepare the track has been stolen. Thanks to Lesley Pearce for the lend of the Leaf Blower the race can go ahead. Thanks to our sponsors: Creative Cycling, Lauf, TraversBikes.com, Nextie UK, DataLynx Limited, Fibrax Limited Dual Slalom Information (14th July) The Dual Slalom will be different this year. It will be a XC Dual Slalom based on the Pallet jump..so if you can ride that then you will have no problem. A 2nd track has been created next to it and the course has been extended much further up the hill (and round the corner - towards the back straight). The idea is to create close racing but in a less intimidating setting.
Its free to enter for all categories! The races will take place after the Series Prize presentation (done as soon after the main race is finished as possible) Timings will be posted next week. You can enter online now for Male and Female Juvenile, Youth, Junior, Senior, Veteran and Grand/Super Veteran Categories. There are limited places available. There will be an under 9 and 12 races based on a shorter course. These will be held after the U9 and 12 XC Races. You do not need to pre-enter them. Thanks to Creative Cycling who are once again sponsoring the #TraversMTBSeries with these amazing Series winners Jerseys. The Race Jerseys are for the Main races. The sports t-shirts are for U9 and U12.
Who is going to be wearing these at the end of the Series? Don't forget best 5 of 6 races count. Anyone looking for new team kit for their club or team I highly recommend Creative Cycling Just 1 week to go before the 1st round of the Travers MTB Series. You can pre-enter until midnight Wednesday.
