The Travers Mongo is still a pretty rare sight on these shores and to see one relaxing on the beach is a nice treat...thanks to Mark for the photo.
The Travers "Fat Race" is off on review at Fatbike Europe. Gairy will be riding in the Tuscany Trail, thanks to beerbabe.co.uk for producing this frame bag so quickly. It fits like a glove!
Event details for the Potash Spring Classic
Race Venue: There is plenty of parking in the main field right next to the start finish area, please park courteously and follow instructions from the Marshals.
Directions: The postcode for the race is SS4 1PL, the actual postcode takes you to the main house on the estate. The carpark entrance is a further 100m up the road in the Hockley direction. There will be a banner outside to clearly mark it.
On the day: Each rider must sign-on in the “Travers Bikes gazebo” before riding on the course. You will need a number attached to your bike before being let on and obviously a helmet. You do not need to bring anything.
Entry on the day is still available at £15 Senior and £10 under 16’s
The main senior race will start at 11:00 and the under 16”s at 11:02, both races will be an hour plus a lap, you will receive the bell when the lead rider has crossed the line once the hour is complete.
The signing-on and course open at 10:00
The lap is around 2.5km, all competitors and spectators will receive free cake either before or after the event from It's a Cupcake thing. There are no overall prizes for the race. There will be a cake supplied by It's a Cupcake thing for the winner of the “Segment Slam” see the website for more details.
There are toilets on site but no catering facilities.
The Potash Spring Classic is a British Cycling category C race and national points will be awarded appropriately. The results will be published as soon as possible on www.traversbikes.com and British Cycling as soon as possible.
Some final tweaks to the course this morning ahead of the race on sunday. A bit of bramble clearing and clearing of leaves.
