Welcome to the 2022 Travers MTB Series, we have changed the categories and timings a little for this year, to make it easier for the younger riders we have introduced a Under 7s category and made a slightly easier flatter course.

What are the Age Categories?
The cut off for all ages is 00:00 January 1st 2023

i.e. If you want to ride in the Under 7 category - You still need to be 6 at the stoke of midnight

Male/Female Ride together (in categories below)
Under 7 - Riders Born since 2016
Under 9 - Riders Born Between 2014 - 15
Under 12 - Riders Born between 2011 - 13
If you enter a rider for any of the above races, you just need to do it once, the riders entry will be carried forward to all rounds (whether they intent to ride them or not).

The timings will remain the same for every round of the 2023 series
08:20 - Under 7/9/12s course open for practise
08:40 - Course closed - Under 7s go to the start
08:45 - Under 7s race start (7 mins) adults can assist younger riders (Riders can use balance bikes)
09:00 - Under 9s race start (13 mins)
09:25 - Under 12s race start (18 mins)

Entry Fee
The series is free for all U7/9/12 riders (every round)
You just need to enter once then you will be automatically entered for all remaining rounds
There is a £5 charge when you enter for your race number board and helmet tag
(this is a 1 time only payment covering all rounds, there is a £5 replacement fee if lost)
There is NO entry on the day, you must pre-enter online

Categories
In all 3 age groups both the male and female riders will start together
Under 7's - All riders should be under the age of 7 on 01/01/23

Race Timings
We will try to run the races as close to the timings above as well as the race duration.
A bell will be rung with 1 lap to go and everyone will get the checkered flag once the winner has crossed the line no matter what lap they are on.

Prizes
There are no prizes for each individual Series Round
Every finisher will get a medal
Points will be awarded for finishing positions each round and the best of 5 (of 6) race finishes will be put towards the overall series.
The top 3 in each category Male and Female will win prizes

Results
Results will be posted online after the event (normally the same evening)

Gridding
This will be done on the riders overall position in the series

Equipment
A bike, it does not need to be anything special, just be able to handle off-road conditions.
Helmet - Correctly adjusted
That's it, the series is designed to be as
accessible as possible for everyone

Information for Travers MTB Series - Adults

Adult (Male and Female) categories explained
In 2023 the categories have evolved a little, for 2 reasons, the massive increase in rider numbers in 2022 and to open up the series to new riders who have never raced before.

Change 1, The introduction of a Male/Female Fun category, its open to anyone new to the sport, there will be no prizes or overall series awards to keep the entry price down, the races distance will be shortened to 45mins + 1 Lap (roughtly 1hr total)
Change 2, The Female Fun category will be run at the same time as the other female categories starting 15 minuites later. The Male Fun Category and L2 riders will have their own race, meaning you will not be on course at the same time as the faster Elite and L1 riders.
