Adult (Male and Female) Categories Explained In 2023 the categories have evolved a little, for 2 reasons, the massive increase in rider numbers in 2022 and to open up the series to new riders who have never raced before.
Change 1 - The introduction of a Male/Female Fun category, it's open to anyone new to the sport. To keep the entry price down there will be no prizes or overall series awards and the race distance will be shortened to 45 mins + 1 Lap (roughly 1hr total). Change 2 - The Female Fun category will be run at the same time as the other female categories starting 15 minutes later. The Male Fun Category and League 2 riders will have their own race, meaning you will not be on course at the same time as the faster Elite and League 1 riders.
Women's Categories - Born before and including 2006 Elite - Competitive riders L1 - Race regularly with a good level of skill Fun - Great place to start, you are just out to have fun and learn from others
