 What a fantastic series of events this year at the Travers MTB Series. Again it has been great to have the opportunity to give you the general safety briefing before the start of each race. I have had some excellent feedback from many of the riders about how their fellow competitors have been supportive and encouraging. In a couple of my pre race chats I did feel like I was giving you a telling off and if this was the case please accept my apologies. Being a Commissaire the balance of giving safety advice and moaning is a difficult task and I hope I got the balance right.
Over the few years I’ve been your Comm at the Travers races I’ve seen many riders go through the age categories and many first timers progress through the ranks coming back year after year. The youngest riders were a pleasure to talk to and watch them compete with each other and I do believe they all abided the first rule of racing - to have fun. Some of the best feedback I’ve received is from the women who have been racing at the same time as the youth and juvenile riders. These young riders are a credit to the sport and they have been very supportive and polite to the women riders many of whom have never raced before. Many people congratulated me on the course design which is actually all down to Michael Travers I just approve it. Thank you for being good sports, good listeners and thanks for the banter. Kevin  There will be food and drink available from the Travers Gazebo from round 4 onwards. We did plan on doing this earlier but with the increased riders numbers we decided it was better to concentrate on the smooth running of the race first.
Intitally it will be cold food/drinks but hopefully in 2023 we will have hot drinks as well. Card payments only. All Drinks £1, Pepsi Max, 7up, Tango Orange, Fruit Shoot and Buxton Water. Food: Flapjacks £1.20, St Pierre Sugar Waffles £1.20, Borders Mini Biscuits £50p, Kettle Chips 70p  Great to see MTB racing back locally at Beastway MTB this weekend.
Just under 1 month before Round 1 of the Travers MTB Series. Below is the provisional map for the Adult races. Another day of close racing at round 3 of the Travers MTB Series. You can see your finishing position on the Results page. Check out your overall position in the series. 1 week to go before round 2 of the Travers MTB Series. Below are the course maps for the U9, U12 and Main Races. As you can see the course is totally different to round 1, the final wooden jump/technical section has been reworked to make it flow better, some totally new sections plus mini bomb holes are back for 2019! Round 1 was the largest field we have ever had at the series, which continues to grow each year. This year we introduced a women's only race, the prizes are the same across both the men's and women's field, it would be really great to see a few more getting involved, come and have a go, its a friendly, fun race, ideal for your first event. We have added the option to enter the final 5 events for the price of 4, this will close on Wednesday 8th May at midnight (as will all online entries for round 2).     Last Chance Series Entry
It was amazing to see so many new Riders at the first round of the series yesterday. Many people asked if they could still enter the series. Normally series entries would be closed after the first round but I have just added an option to enter the last 5 rounds for the price of 4! This offer will close midnight Wednesday 8th May.
