Another great new (tough) course on Sunday for the 14th round of the EasternCross at Haughley Park. Had some really close racing right down to the last lap.
Thanks to Davey Jones for the photos.
Thanks to Davey Jones for the photos, loved the conditions at the weekend, no grip, lots of sideways action. I am slowly moving up the field as I get my fitness back.
The Travers DIRTi performed flawlessly as usual!
2 really tough cyclocross races at the weekend, first up the Eastern Region event, then the Central League. Both were quite bumpy. I am starting to feel like I am racing, rather than just riding around. I should be fit for the end of the season!
The DIRTi was flawless and looked amazing with the new Nextie rims and Berd spokes.
Tough weekend on racing at the Eastern Cross round 5 run by CC Ashwell. Dean was running solidly in the top 10 on his Travers DIRTi for the first time this season when on lap 6 his seat clamp snapped and a rear wheel puncture at the furthest point on the course. I dropped the seatpost on my RUSSTi 27.5+ and swapped bike in the pits. Dean had never ridden the bike before, it was too big for him and it wasnt a CX bike but still he lapped within 1-2 seconds of the lap before he punctured!
Amazing ride, solid performance picking up points when you can, even when things go wrong are key to a CX season, this result moves Dean up to 3rd place overall in the Seniors Eastern CX league.
Boat in Travers, Travers DIRTi on boat, boat back on Travers
Planning on taking my DRITi out for an over night adventure when the weather is calm.
The plan, park car in Keswick ride bike south with Alpaca Caribou on front bars (other gear to go on back and on bike) to The East coast of Derwent Water.
Unpack and inflate the pack raft, strap bike and gear to said pack raft and set out for a paddle.
Of course it's not recommended to overnight on one of Derwent waters islands.........
Head north to Derwent River a (hopefully) gentle "class 1" float into Bassenthwaite Lake.
Got out on the North East shore line, deflate the pack raft, load it back onto the bike and ride back to the car.
Another Travers DIRTi off to a lucky customer.
Every build different!
The Travers DIRTi is out on review with Bear Bones Bikepacking.
