Kev's season review

What a fantastic series of events this year at the Travers MTB Series. Again it has been great to have the opportunity to give you the general safety briefing before the start of each race. I have had some excellent feedback from many of the riders about how their fellow competitors have been supportive and encouraging. In a couple of my pre race chats I did feel like I was giving you a telling off and if this was the case please accept my apologies. Being a Commissaire the balance of giving safety advice and moaning is a difficult task and I hope I got the balance right.
Over the few years I’ve been your Comm at the Travers races I’ve seen many riders go through the age categories and many first timers progress through the ranks coming back year after year. The youngest riders were a pleasure to talk to and watch them compete with each other and I do believe they all abided the first rule of racing - to have fun. Some of the best feedback I’ve received is from the women who have been racing at the same time as the youth and juvenile riders. These young riders are a credit to the sport and they have been very supportive and polite to the women riders many of whom have never raced before. Many people congratulated me on the course design which is actually all down to Michael Travers I just approve it.
Thank you for being good sports, good listeners and thanks for the banter.
Kevin

U7/9/12 Series prize giving will be at 10:30, parents you have time to do a lap before we hand out the awards.

We would like all of the helmet tags back, you can keep the number boards. Hand them in after the U7/9/12 prize-giving in exchange for one of these sweet treats. Please check with parents/guardians if it's okay.

Round 6 A/B line prep

1/7/2024

Entries close at midnight Wednesday, Whoop Whoop, last time I have to say that this year!
The course will as usual switch in direction from round 5, so both of the A/B lines are going up. The photos are from the A/B line near the start, the A-line remains almost the same (there is a slightly easier run-in) The B line is completely different, it's now on the left-hand side of the A-line and is longer and feeds back in at the top of the hill.
The A/B line in the middle of the course is almost identical just reversed. The A-line has an easier step to the left of the jump at the top of the hill, The B-line has been made longer to make the A-line the quickest track.
A few other alterations on the course to make the course flow better run in this direction.
