Race day timings for round 10 of the MTB east League. It remains similar to normal, just with the addition of the U7/9/12 prize presentation at 10:30, all races are pushed back 30 mins, this gives us time to work out the final overall results and to allow riders to do a sighting lap before the presentation starts.
The U14/16 and Adult prize presentation and prize draw (open to everyone) will be done as soon as possible after the Male S1/Elite race has finished. Thanks to one of our great sponsors MT ZOOM Racing, they have sent us over some prizes for the draw at the final at Potash. Everyone who has raced, marshalled and helped will be entered.
We have now visited all of the new venues for 2025. After the visit to Twisted Oaks, nobody can complain about the grassy start loop climb at Potash! Don't forget this weekend we are back at MTB east Round 8 - Betteshanger Kent, the course will be different to before, lots more of the great single track and less out in the open.
As at the previous round, Basil Thornton photos are available free. Twisted Oaks Under 7's Twisted Oaks Under 9's Twisted Oaks Under 12's Twisted Oaks Female Elite and S1 Twisted Oaks S2 Male and U14 U16 Twisted Oaks Elite and S1 Male 🚵 Welcome to Round 7 of the MTB East League! 🚵♀️
We’re excited to welcome you to a slightly different but just as exciting round of racing! This event takes place at a bike park, so there are a few quirks to be aware of — please read all details carefully. ⸻ 🚴♂️ BIKE PARK ACCESS • The bike park will be open to the public during our event. • Jump trails are strictly off-limits unless you have explicit permission from the park. • If you’d like to ride anything other than the XC trails or the official race course, you must sign in at the bike park office. • Please ride responsibly and be respectful of other park users. ⸻ 🚗 PARKING There are two car parks: 1. Lower Car Park (Rider-Preferred) • This is the best option for race access. • It’s very small, so please fill this first — it will be signposted. • The medical team will be based here. • To reach the start/finish: • Adults: follow the gravel road. • U12/9/7 riders: follow the track by the river. 2. Overflow Car Park (Main Bike Park Car Park) • Located at the top of the hill by the trail centre. • Toilets and the food van will be located here. • From this car park, you can reach the course by following the XC trail downhill. • Stand facing the woods from the car park — the XC course is directly ahead. • ⚠️ Parents, please be cautious — it’s a steep descent. ⸻ 🕒 RACE FORMAT & TIMING • The race schedule remains the same as previous rounds. • The timing gantry will be in use for the main course only. It will not be used for U12/9/7 races due to logistical limitations. 👧 Under 7 (U7) • This race will remain time-based, as in previous rounds. 👦 Under 9 & Under 12 (U9 & U12) • These categories will race on the same course. • The races will be lap-based, not time-based, with each category completing a set number of laps. ⸻ 📍 EVENT HUB & START AREA • The Travers Gazebo will be located at the bottom of the hill — visible from most of the venue. • Head there for: • Directions to the start area • Info • Help from event staff 🚫 Please only enter the course for practice at the official start area — no joining mid-course. ⸻ 🍔 FOOD & FACILITIES • Toilets are available at both car parks. • The food van will be in the Overflow (main bike park) car park at the top. ⸻ ✅ Final Reminders: • Respect the venue and other park users. • Stick to the designated trails unless signed in at the bike park office. • Use only official access points to the race course. • Cheer loudly and ride hard — but above all, have fun! #MTbeast #Round7 #RaceDayInfo #RideRespectRepeat Breaking News from the MTB East Woodland HQ
After a high-powered business meeting deep in the forest (featuring passive-aggressive squirrels and Basil Thornton asserting dominance on a gnarly tree stump), we’ve finally struck a deal. MTB East is covering the cost of ALL race photos — which means they’re absolutely FREE for you to download, keep, and post to your heart’s content. Yes, even that one where you look like a cross between an XC god and a badger discovering its first berm. All we ask is that you tag @mtbeast and @basilthornton — because if we’re footing the bill, we want internet fame and mild bragging rights. https://www.basilthorntonphotography.com/gallery.html |
