After 2000km, a bit of a clean and lube and it looks as good as new!
I completed my first proper endurance ride on the road elite yesterday with a 200km jolly. It involved a 24km trip to and from the Essex Road "Spring Lambs" 160km sportive.
The Road Elite performed impeccably, I know sportives are not a race! but I rolled in 15th place out of over 700 other riders and still felt good at the end.
Conditions were quite changeable with extremely slippery road and where others were sliding off and picking up punctures the Road Elite didn't miss a beat.
Anyone that has owned a titanium frame will tell you of the almost mystical powers of the of the material to insulate you from the road and the Road Elite is no exception. Although my legs were starting to feel a bit tired towards the end my shoulders and back did not ache at all.
I must thank the Essex Road cycling club for putting on a great event and the Marshals for standing out in the rain.
The Travers "Road Prong" fork just got lighter! with carbon dropouts it weighs in at just 361g (with uncut steerer) £199. Designed to fit seamlessly with the Road Elite frame.
