I will be riding the Fat Race out to see the 3rd stage of the Tour De France tomorrow around Chelmsford. The plan is to leave from Bosworth Park (Near progress road Southend) at 9 o'clock, then take a lap of Hockley woods before heading to Danbury via some offroad sections for a play. Then to make our/my way down to Chelmsford via the Heybridge canal for around 12 when the caravan goes through. Watch the race go past on route, then going back into Chelmsford to see the finish on the big screen in Admirals Park. Anyone is free to tag along or come up and have a stoke of the fatty.
Congratulations to Matt Barlow on riding is Road Elite to 2nd place last night at Hog Hill road race. This gave him enough points to regain his 2nd cat license!
On my scales the Travers Carbon Fat Prongs weigh in at just 533g (excluding axle) No really! are they the worlds lightest? I cant find any lighter!
They feature a 15x135mm thru axle and a tapered carbon steerer tube with a rider weight limit of 110kg, that equates to 17.3 stone.
For more information check out the Fat Prong page.
Pictured below are a bunch of the thru axles...what is the collective name of a bunch of Fat Bike thru axles...Faxles?
