The "Rudy Fat" can now be bespoke ordered with a 142x12mm rear hub spacing. The frame is supplied with a rear axle. The current built time for the 142mm rear end is 10 weeks. Standard 135mm QR frames are in stock now.

The "Rudy" just got Fat! The ultimate endurance racer and "all day getting lost in the hills frame" just got better! Designed to accept a 29+ tyres up to 3" on a 50mm rim but still using standard components this frame has all the bases covered.

Rudy Fat 29+ Review

The "Rudy Fat" has all the fast rolling characteristics of its skinny cross country brother but with the extra tyre width you get a higher degree of float and traction. Who needs suspension when you have this smile inducing fat tyre soaking up the abuse the trail dishes out and guiding you round the corners like the bike is on rails!

All Travers Bikes frames are hand crafted from titanium and the "Rudy Fat is no exception.

Starting at the front, it will have;
A (semi integrated) Taper headset,
31.6mm seat tube
PF30 bottom bracket,
Standard 135mm rear hub,
Replaceable rear mech hanger

Up front you can run any standard 29er suspension fork (although you will need to check that the 29+ tyre will fit). Obviously the "Travers Prong 29 carbon fork" is the ideal addition to this frame.

OK, for the science bit! The frame will swallow tyres from a massive 3" with a rim up to 52mm wide, a standard 29er wheel all the way down to a 700c CX setup!

The Rudy Fat is ideally suited to run with a 1x10 or 1x11 geared setup giving ample chain tyre clearance. We realise that if you live in a more mountainous environment then a 2x (double chainset) are more suited. A standard double chainset can be used without any modifications if you use a KCNC PF30 converter and simply run the 2.5mm BB spacer on the drive side rather than the non drive side! Also because of the bend in the seat tube it is best to run a high mount top pull front mech.

Bottom bracket
The reason we chose the 73mm PF30 was because of the big weld area, extra mud room and massive choice of cranks/BB's that will fit;
Option 1: Straight forward PF30 bottom bracket,
Option 2: PF30 EBB which will allow you to run any 24mm BB (Shimano, SRAM etc) with a single speed or gear hub setup without the need for a chain tensioner. You can also run any 24/25mm BB with any number of PF30 BB converters (I advice the KCNC version).

Weight Large 2090g

The built bike is just for illustration purposes and all the components can be bought seperatly, the price is for the frame only.
